Every Contabo VPS and VDS comes with a static public IPv4 address included at no extra cost. This IP address is exclusively assigned to your server and is not shared with any other customer.

Your IP address will remain the same for the lifetime of your server. The only exceptions are if you reinstall your server in a different region, or relocate it to a different data center - in those cases, a new IP address will be assigned. (For more details, see How to make changes to your VPS or VDS plan). 

It is possible to order additional IPv4 addresses for your Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Virtual Dedicated Servers (VDS) and Dedicated Servers. 

VPS & VDS

You can order an additional IP address directly via the Customer Control Panel: 

1. Log in to my.contabo.com

2. Navigate to Your Services → Order Add-On → Additional IP Address

Please note the following before ordering:

• Price: €3.50 per month, on top of your existing server subscription.
• Tax: 21% tax will be added to that price based on your account's tax settings, bringing the total to €4.24 per month.
• Payment: The amount will be charged immediately using the payment method on your account. If the charge cannot be processed, your request will be closed.

3. By proceeding with the order, you confirm that you agree to pay the price mentioned above for the additional IP address and authorize the immediate charge to your payment method. 

Dedicated Server

You need to contact the support team to order an additional IP address.

Are there any limits on how many additional IP addresses I can order?

There are some limits on how many IP addresses you can order depending on which type of Contabo server you have. 

The current limits for additional IP addresses are as follows:

• 1 additional IPv4 for VPS.
• 15 additional IPv4s for VDS.
• 25 additional IPv4s for dedicated servers.

How can I configure the additional IP addresses? 

Additional IPv4 addresses will not be added to your system automatically but will have to be configured manually.

Can I change my server's IP address?

If you want to replace your existing IP address rather than add a new one, there are two options:

Add an additional IP address
You can order an additional IPv4. Your current IP address remains active, and the new IP can be configured and used alongside it. For VPS and VDS, the additional IP can be ordered directly through your Customer Panel.

Server reinstall with a new IP address
We can reinstall your server, which will assign a new IP address. Please note that this will permanently erase all existing data on the server - ensure you back up all important data beforehand.
