How can I purchase a cPanel license for my Contabo server?

cPanel is a is 3rd party web hosting control panel tool that can be included with your Contabo server. 

You can purchase cPanel servers on the website here or if you already have a Contabo server you can purchase it separately by contacting support.

If you have purchased cPanel for an existing server you will need to reinstall your server with cPanel. Below are the steps on how to do this using the Customer Control Panel.

How do I install cPanel on my sever?

1. Log in to the Customer Panel.
2. Navigate to Servers & Hosting on the left hand side of the page
3. Select VPS/VDS from the drop-down menu
4. Click on the three dots under More next to the corresponding server
5. Click Reinstall in the drop-down
6. Select the operating system you would like to re-install on your server together with cPanel
7. Select a license based on the selected image
8. Enter the password you would like to use for the new operating system.
9. Click Install when you're ready.

Important: This step is irreversible. Clicking Install starts the installation immediately, so please double-check that all settings are correct beforehand - changes can't be made once the process begins. This installation will also erase all existing data on the server. If your server currently holds any data, back it up before proceeding, as it cannot be recovered afterward.

How do I access cPanel after installation?

After you have successfully installed cPanel on your server, you can access it by your web browser entering the following URL:

https://[[Your Server IP Address]]:2087/

For example if your servers IP address was 255.255.255.255 you would enter the following URL:

 https://255.255.255.255:2087/

Please note: The login details are the same as your VPS login details, which you set during the installation.

How can I upgrade cPanel?

Existing cPanel licenses cannot be upgraded or downgraded. The existing license has to be deleted, and a new license with updated account limits will be subsequently activated. This process will not affect your server or website availability.

The new license will align with your main server subscription's billing period, but the remaining days of the current license will not carry over. For this reason, try to submit your request 3 business days before the license renewal. To submit your request, please contact our support team.
