Why is my IP address blacklisted by UCEPROTECT?

UCEPROTECT has recently changed their listing policy and this has caused IP addresses from the Contabo network to be listed in their so-called "Level 3" blacklist. Changes have been made by Contabo to solve this problem immediately.

Can my IP address be de-blacklisted by Contabo?

Contabo does not have any influence on the delisting process, therefore it is not possible to give an estimated time for delisting from UCEPROTECT.Changes have been made to comply with UCEPROTECT's updated policy, which hopefully will help your IP address to be delisted from UCEPROTECT.

What effects will my IP address being blacklisted by UCEPROTECT have?

Large mail providers (e.g. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo) do not use the UCEPROTECT filters at all, so emails to these providers are not affected by this list.

Even smaller mail servers using the UCEPROTECT filters will most likely not include the level 3 rules, as UCEPROTECT itself considers the level 3 filter to be too strict.

While Contabo is still working on a final solution regarding the UCEPROTECT listing, the blacklisting as such should not affect the regular mail delivery from your server. Although mail servers with a too strict filtering setup may be affected, the current listing can be considered uncritical for general mail delivery.
