How Do I Create a Snapshot of My Server?
What is a Snapshot?
If you have a High-speed VPS series, you have the option to take a snapshot of your Cloud VPS. This feature is only available for Cloud VPS.
The Snapshot feature is not a backup, instead a snapshot saves and stores the current state of your system. This is a useful tool that allows you to update applications or install new software on your system without risk. If you encounter problems after installing an update, you can easily "roll back" your system to its previous state.
You can perform a Snapshot yourself by using the Customer Control Panel.
How do I create a Snapshot?
- Log in to the Customer Control Panel.
- Click "Servers & Hosting" and then click "VPS".
- Click the button in the "More" button next to the VPS you want to create a snapshot of and then click "Create Snapshot" from the drop-down menu. The following window should open:

- Write a name for the Snapshot in the "Name" text box.
- Optionally, you can also add a description for the snapshot in the "Description" text box.
- Finally, click the "Create Snapshot" button.
More information on Snapshots:
Snapshots are not kept indefinitely. After 30 days, the snapshots will be deleted. The exact auto-delete date can be found in the customer control panel.
Also, depending on your VPS plan, there is a limit to the number of snapshots you can store.
Taking a snapshot does not use any disk space. The space for the snapshot is not deducted from the disk space of your VPS, but is stored in additional space.
Snapshots cannot be downloaded.
