To be eligible for a revocation, the following requirements must be met:
- You must contact the customer support team within the first 14 days of your contract with Contabo.
- When you contact the support team, you'll have to confirm that you accept the loss of all the data on the server that you are canceling.
- You have a private account, business accounts are not eligible for revocation.
- Your are not requesting a revocation of a domain; domains are not eligible for revocation.
How Can I Request a Revocation for a Contabo Product?
If you are eligible for a revocation, you can request it in any written form, such as:
Submitting a ticket – see How Do I Submit a Ticket to the Contabo Customer Support Team?
Contacting us via chat – see How Do I Chat With the Contabo Customer Support Team?
Filling out the Support form via the new Customer panel:
Click Create new Support Ticket
Under Select the topic of your request, choose Contract
Under Specify the subtopic of your request, choose Revocation
Under Select subscription, choose the subscription you want to revoke.
⚠️ Revocation is only available to private customers and must be submitted within the 14-day revocation period.
You will also need to confirm the checkbox acknowledging that revoking the service will result in irreversible data loss.
In the Details field, describe your revocation request (e.g., which service you want to revoke and any relevant information), then click Submit a Ticket.
I don't meet the requirements for revocation, is there anything else I can do?
If you're outside the 14-day window, revocation is no longer available - but you may still have options. Cancellation via the Customer Panel ends your service at the next billing cycle (forward-dated only; it cannot reverse a renewal that has already occurred). See How can I close my Contabo account or cancel a Contabo service?
If your service has recently renewed and you believe a refund may apply, contact Customer Support directly - retroactive cases require manual review.
You can find more about other types of refund/cancellation in our article here, so please check this article to see if there are any other ways you can cancel/refund your service.
